Five Providence College Softball Players Named 2012-13 NFCA Scholar-Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Providence College softball team had five student-athletes named 2012-13 NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes, the Association announced on Monday, Oct. 7. Over 4,000 softball student-athletes were chosen from seven different divisions. To qualify, student-athletes must have held a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the 2012-13 academic year.

Current senior Marie Flego (little Silver, N.J.) and junior Lauren Paiva (Middletown, R.I.) were named to the list. Also honored were Corinne Clauss, Jessie Bryant and Stephanie Kiesel, who were all seniors on last year’s squad. As a team, Providence had a combined GPA of 3.163.
