Florida State Softball Ready to Face Michigan in NCAA Softball Super Regional

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Winners of the 2014 Tallahassee Regional, and by virtue of being a No. 8 national seed, the No. 3-ranked Florida State Seminoles will host an NCAA Super Regional against Michigan on May 22-23 in Tallahassee, Fla.

Game one will take place at 7:00 p.m. on May 22 with game two scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on May 23. Thursday’s game will air on ESPN while Friday’s matchup will be shown on ESPNU. A third game, if necessary, will be played on May 23 at 7:00 p.m. and will air on ESPN.

Michigan (46-13) comes to Tallahassee as winners of the Tempe Regional over host school Arizona State. The Wolverines won a share of the 2014 Big Ten title and needed two wins over Arizona State on May 18 to advance to their third straight Super Regional.

Florida State (53-6) won the Tallahassee Regional with wins over Fordham and USF. The Seminoles defeated the Bulls, 2-0, in an 11-inning thriller on May 17 and were victorious again, 2-1, in the regional final on May 18. FSU will play in its second-straight NCAA Super Regional and third all-time.

The Seminoles are 3-19 all-time against Michigan with all three wins coming in Tallahassee. The two teams last met in 2009 when they split both meetings in the Seminole Classic. Florida State upset No. 4 Michigan, 6-5 in 11 innings, on Feb. 22 before dropping the next meeting, 1-0, on Feb. 24.

Single-day tickets for games on Thursday and Friday will go on sale morning on May 19 and will be $7 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors. Tickets can be ordered either on Seminoles.com or by calling 1-888-FSU-NOLE. The ticket office is located at Gate B on the west side of Doak Campbell Stadium and the office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. ET.
