LSU Softball Slated for Three TV Appearances

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 17 LSU softball team will appear three times on national television during the 2014 season as announced Tuesday by the SEC office.

LSU’s first televised contest will come at No. 6 Alabama on Sunday, March 30 with a 1 p.m. first pitch to accommodate Fox Sports Network (FSN). The Tigers also will appear on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) for its home game versus Georgia on April 12 and at South Carolina on April 19 on ESPNU. The start times for those contests are 4 p.m. and 3 p.m. CT, respectively.

Every game of the SEC Tournament from May 7-10 will be televised by the ESPN family of networks for the fifth consecutive season. A pair of opening round games on Wednesday, all four of Thursday’s quarterfinals and both of Friday’s semifinals will air on ESPNU. Saturday’s championship game at 7 p.m. CT will be carried on ESPN2 from Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field.

At a later date, LSU will have five home games selected by Cox Sports Television in conjunction with LSU Sports Properties. CST, a regional sports network based out of New Orleans, has access to two million homes across seven states. CST is cable channel 37 and available in HD on channel 1037 in the Baton Rouge market.

LSU is nine days away from 2014 opening night where the Tigers will play host to No. 10 Texas at 6 p.m. CT. LSU welcomes Central Arkansas, Minnesota, Murray State, Oklahoma State and SIU-Edwardsville for the Tiger Classic. The three-day tournament runs from Feb. 7-9.

Season tickets can be purchased for $75 at www.LSUtix.net for a banner home schedule that features 15 games versus 2013 NCAA Tournament teams. LSU squares off with two more 2013 Women’s College World Series opponents in Florida (March 14-16) and national runner-up Tennessee (April 4-6) in addition to NCAA Tournament participants Georgia (April 11-13) and Mississippi State (May 2-4) for three-game SEC series at Tiger Park.
