PISCATAWAY, N.J. (September 9, 2013) – The Rutgers softball team released its 2013 fall schedule, the program announced Monday. The slate includes four doubleheader matchups, with three taking place “On the Banks” at the RU Softball Complex.
The Scarlet Knights begin their fall schedule on Saturday, Sept. 28, when they will welcome Caldwell College to Piscataway for a doubleheader beginning at noon. RU will be back at it on Sunday, Sept. 29 against Wagner for another noon doubleheader at the RU Softball Complex.
Head coach Jay Nelson will lead his team to its only road matchup of the fall on Saturday, Oct. 5 against Lehigh. The doubleheader is slated for a noon start at Kaufman Field in Bethlehem, Pa.
Rounding out the Scarlet Knights list of fall opponents is Long Island (LIU), which RU defeated, 5-2, on April 30, 2013 in its second to last nonconference matchup of the season. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 19 beginning at noon at the RU Softball Complex.
