TAMPA, JAN. 31, 2014 – Coming off their first-ever Big East Tournament Championship in 2013, the Bulls were picked to finish second in the inaugural American Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll that was released Friday morning.

No. 25/23 USF received two first-place votes and 44 overall points, finishing four points behind preseason favorite No. 19/18 Louisville. The Cardinals picked up six of a possible eight first-place votes with the Bulls picking up the other two.

The Bulls defeated the Cardinals in last season’s Big East tournament semifinal on their way to winning the conference tournament and making their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Regionals.
The poll was voted on by the league’s head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own teams.
