WASHINGTON, PA. – July 15, 2015 —The Pennsylvania Rebellion were back in action Wednesday night, July 15 when they took on the Dallas Charge in game three of their series at CONSOL Energy Park. Dallas Escobedo led the way for the Rebellion, as she tossed a three hit shutout to give the Rebellion a 1-0 victory.

Both Escobedo (2-6) and Dallas’ Morgan Melloh (0-5) came out firing early, as neither allowed a run through three innings. Alexa Peterson singled to lead off the bottom of the second for the Rebellion and would eventually move into scoring position, but Melloh was able to pitch her way of an early trouble.

Pennsylvania was able to get on the scoreboard in the fourth frame of the evening when Haruna Sakamoto singled and came around to score on a Dallas error. The lone run proved to be all that was needed for the Rebellion victory.

Escobedo continued her dominance throughout the game, along with great defensive play behind her. In the top of the sixth, the Charge started to put things together by getting a runner into scoring position, but Escobedo was able to end that threat quickly by getting Nadia Taylor to fly out to right field for the final out of the inning. Taylor Thom began the top of the seventh with a leadoff double, but once again, Escobedo was able to remain composed and get the final three outs to preserve the 1-0 win for the Rebellion. Tonight’s victory marks the first three-game winning streak for Pennsylvania in franchise history.

The Rebellion will go for the sweep against Dallas in their four-game series Thursday, July 16 at CONSOL Energy Park. First pitch of game four is set for 7:05 p.m. For ticket information please visit the front office, call 724-950-9555 or visit www.pennsylvaniarebellion.com
