TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers 2-1 to win the 2014 NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Super Regional held at Rhoads Stadium to advance to the Women’s College World Series.
Less than 18 hours after winning a marathon 6-5 game one in 12 innings, Alabama clinched game two and the series when senior pitcher Jaclyn Traina forced a pop-up to foul territory on the first-base side of the field. Alabama scored two in the top of the first inning while the Huskers put one across in the bottom of the second to close out the scoring for the game.
Traina picked up the win for Alabama, pushing her record to 23-3 on the season, while Tatum Edwards took the loss for Nebraska, falling to 24-13.
