BIG EAST Player of the Week
Dylan Christensen, DePaul, So., 1B/OF
BIG EAST Preseason favorite DePaul got off to a 5-0 start to league play thanks in part to Christensen’s hot bat last week. The reigning BIG EAST Rookie of the Year went 11-of-18 from the plate for a .611 average, adding seven runs batted in. The Blue Demons swept a three-game series at Seton Hall before taking two games from Providence in an abbreviated series. Christensen had three doubles and three home runs over the five games, not striking out once despite 18 at bats.

BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Tori Free, St. John’s, Jr., P
St. John’s went 4-0 last week and Tori Free was credited with three of those wins, while appearing in all four games. The junior recorded a 0.97 earned run average, striking out 22 in a three-game series sweep of Butler and a midweek non-league victory over LIU-Brooklyn. Free allowed just two extra-base hits and three earned runs in 21.2 innings of work.

Weekly Honor Roll
Erin Burner, St. John’s, Sr., C/SS
In a 4-0 week for the Red Storm, Burner batted .667 with eight runs batted in and three homers. She scored four runs and was walked three times.

Jen Daro, Creighton, So., INF
Daro belted the game-winning home run in a 2-1 victory at Georgetown on Sunday, the Bluejays’ lone game of the week. Daro also led the team with 12 putouts.

Sydnee Eck, Creighton, So., P
Eck improved to 6-1 on the season by not allowing an earned run at Georgetown on Sunday, striking out five and walking just one in a complete-game victory.

Shanelle Harrell, Providence, Sr., INF
Harrell batted .625 in a two-game series against DePaul, adding three RBI, two doubles and a stolen base.

Yasmin Harrell, Seton Hall, Jr., U
Harrell batted .571 in a 2-3 week for the Pirates, adding three stolen bases, two runs scored and three multi-hit games.
