BIG EAST Player of the Week
Erin Burner, St. John’s, Sr., C/SS
Burner boasted league-high numbers of a .700 batting average, 1.900 slugging percentage, .769 on base percentage and 12 runs batted in during a 4-0 week for St. John’s, helping to keep the Red Storm unbeaten in BIG EAST play and all alone atop the standings. Following a 4-for-4 showing at Stony Brook on Wednesday, the senior went 3-for-6 with three walks in a three-game sweep of league foe Providence. Burner was walked three times in Game 2 of the series following a two home-run showing in Game 1. She added another homer in Game 3. Over nine BIG EAST games, Burner leads the Conference with a .571 average, 16 RBI and six homers.

BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Brette Lawrence, Villanova, So., P
Lawrence posted the top earned run average in the BIG EAST last week, allowing just one earned run over 24.2 innings of work for a 0.28 mark. The sophomore went 3-0, earning the win in Game 1 of the doubleheader with Marist on Monday, followed by a single-game victory over Rider on Thursday. Lawrence wrapped up the week with a `W’ in Game 2 of Saturday’s doubleheader at Butler. For the week, the sophomore made five appearances, striking out 18 and surrendering just one extra-base hit.

BIG EAST Honor Roll
Francesca Carrullo, St. John’s, Sr., P
Carrullo went 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA, allowing just one earned run over 12.0 innings of work against Providence. The senior struck out seven and currently leads all BIG EAST pitchers in league action with a 0.51 ERA over 27.2 innings pitched.

Mary Connolly, DePaul, Sr., P/1B
Connolly was effective both at the plate and in the circle in a 3-2 week for DePaul, including a 2-1 series win at Georgetown. The senior limited opponents to a league-best .193 batting average, going 3-1 over 22.2 innings of work, striking out 12. At the plate, Connolly batted .583 with six RBI, a pair of homers and a double. The reigning BIG EAST Player of the Year was walked seven times last week.

Liz Dike, Creighton, Sr., INF
Dike totaled a .467 batting average over five games for the Bluejays, adding eight RBI by way of four home runs. The senior was walked five times over a doubleheader with South Dakota and a three-game series with Seton Hall.

Lauren Herschberg, Villanova, So., INF
The sophomore batted .464 over eight games, helping the Wildcats to a 6-2 record. Herschberg added three doubles, a triple and a homer, along with a pair of stolen bases.

Alexis Walkden, Seton Hall, Fr., INF
Walkden boasted a 1.222 slugging percentage in a 3-2 week for the Pirates. The freshman had a league-high five home runs and 22 total bases, adding eight RBI, eight runs scored and a .389 average.
