RICHMOND, Va. (April 27, 2015) – James Madison junior Jailyn Ford was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Softball Player of the Week on Monday, while Hofstra senior Morgan Lashley earned the Pitcher of the Week nod. Towson freshman Daria Edwards and JMU freshman Megan Good were both named CAA Rookie of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Jailyn Ford • James Madison
Jr. | P/UTIL| Hot Springs, Va./Bath County

-Batted .571 and went 1-0 in the circle over the weekend, helping the Dukes sweep Elon en route to clinching the top seed and right to host the 2015 CAA Softball Championship.
-Smacked two home runs and drove in six runs with six runs scored.
-Had a team-high 1.571 slugging percentage and drew four walks.
-Tossed a complete game shutout in Game 2 of the series, allowing just four hits to go with four strikeouts, while becoming JMU’s all-time winningest pitcher with 62 career victories.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Morgan Lashley • Hofstra
Sr. | P | Davidson, N.C./North Mecklenburg (Army)

-Selected as Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season after another outstanding unbeaten week.
-Credited with a 4-0 record with a 0.42 ERA as the Pride went 5-0 and clinched the No. 2 seed in the CAA Championship. Earned wins against Syracuse and Fordham and then twice defeated Delaware.
-Fanned 20 total batters with just three walks over 16 2/3 innings. Also held foes to a .123 batting average against.

ROOKIES OF THE WEEK:
Daria Edwards • Towson
Fr. | 3B | Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham

-Captured first career weekly honor after helping the Tigers offensively over a 6-1 week.
-Batted .500 with eight hits, six runs scored, two doubles and three walks. Also credited with a .813 slugging percentage and two stolen bases.
-Finished the weekend with a grand slam in series clinching, 8-0 win over Drexel on Sunday.

Megan Good • James Madison
Fr. | P/INF | Mount Sidney, Va./Fort Defiance

-Impressively earned her fifth weekly rookie nod of the season and seventh award overall.
-Went 2-0 in the circle against Elon, improving to 24-0 on the season while also helping the Dukes extend their winning streak to 31 straight games.
-Allowed one unearned run and five total hits with nine strikeouts over 10.1 frames.
-On Sunday, tossed the fourth no-hitter in JMU history, allowing two walks and fanning six in a 8-0 victory. Also tied the program record for wins in a season, matching Ford’s 24 victories in both 2013 and 2014.
