IRVING, Texas – The first 2015 C-USA Softball weekly awards went to three first-timers, highlighted by North Texas’ Taylor Schoblocher, who blasted six home runs over the course of three games in the North Texas Invitational. On the pitching side, WKU’s Miranda Kramer and Marshall’s Jordan Dixon split the honor as Kramer composed a brilliant 19-strikeout no-hitter, while Dixon logged all five of Marshall’s wins behind a .31 ERA over nearly 30 innings in the circle.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TAYLOR SCHOBLOCHER, NORTH TEXAS | JR., FORNEY, TEXAS
Schoblocher pieced together an outstanding performance during the opening weekend of the season, forcing opposing pitchers to take her as a serious home-run threat during every single appearance at the plate. The junior blasted six home runs over the course of three games, notching back-to-back-to-back multi-home run games to go along with 12 RBI. The Forney, Texas native also tied school records with 10 total bases, five hits and four runs against Boise State plus five RBI against Texas Southern. It is the first C-USA weekly honor of Schoblocher’s career.

CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK
MIRANDA KRAMER, WKU | SR., WEST BURLINGTON, IOWA
Kramer was lights out in the opening weekend, as the senior allowed just four hits with 38 total strikeouts and did not surrender a single run. Kramer set her dominance in the circle early, tossing a 19-strikeout no-hitter at Troy, the first no-hitter of her career. Her 19 strikeouts set the school record for individual and team strikeouts in a game while ranking second-most in Conference USA history. Kramer opened the season with a double-digit strikeout effort against Buffalo, notching 11 versus the Bulls. With the help of her defense, the Iowa native allowed just eight baserunners in her three complete-game outings. It is the first C-USA weekly honor in Kramer’s career.

CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK
JORDAN DIXON, MARSHALL | SO., EDMOND, OKLAHOMA
Dixon went a perfect 5-0 from the circle to lead Marshall to its undefeated start, recording the win in each of the Herd’s games over the weekend. She allowed only three runs, with one earned, and posted 0.31 ERA in 28.2 innings pitched. The Oklahoma native proved yet again that she is a distance pitcher, throwing three complete games and notching 42 strikeouts to only six walks. She also threw 11 straight strikeouts in relief against UMass-Lowell, 13 total. Like the other two award winners, it is the first C-USA weekly honor in Dixon’s young career.
