FPN NCAA DI Softball Players of the Week 4-11-17

Fastpitch News has released its April 11, 2017, NCAA DI Players of the week awards. All nominations will be considered and are due each Monday by 3:00 pm eastern time. Please submit to for review.

Maddy Grimm

Kent State
Grimm had a big week with a .636 batting average, 1.727 slugging percentage, and .789 on-base percentage. She hit four home runs and had eight RBI in just 11 official at-bats, as she was walked seven times and hit by a pitch. Six of the seven walks were intentional, and all seven came on just four pitches

Allie Arneson (Minnesota): Batted .714 with an .818 on-base percentage and 1.714 slugging percentage, collecting two home runs, nine RBI and four runs scored as the No. 7/7 Golden Gophers swept five games, including three Big Ten contests, last week.

Katiyana Mauga (Arizona): Mauge had another big weekend at the plate going 6-for-9 and a .666 average. She blasted four home runs with eight RBI and five runs. Thos four home runs now put her at 83 for her career and just 12 short of the record (95) set by Lauren Chamberlain (Oklahoma).

Randi Rupp

Texas State
Rupp (19-5) is coming off an impressive week. She appeared in four games and earned the win in all four going 4-0 on the week. Rupp did not allow a single earned run in 25.2 innings. Rupp also struck out 29.On the season she carries a 1.00 ERA with 200 strikeouts.

Rachael Knapp (Central Michigan): Knapp dominated in the circle as she went 3-0 with one save. She pitched 24.1 innings, posted a 0.00 ERA with three shutouts and struck out 26 batters.

Haley Chambers-Book (SIUE): Chambers-Book tossed three shutouts and picked up a win in relief last week. She did not give up a run in 21.0 innings of work. For the week, she struck out 24 and walked just two.
