Gator Softball Selected for Nine Television Appearances

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Southeastern Conference released its television schedule for the 2014 softball season on Tuesday, and Gator Softball will have nine televised games, including eight in conference play. Florida will play six times in front of national audiences on the ESPN networks.

Florida will make three appearances on CSS within a nine-day span at the end of March. The run begins March 22 in Gainesville with the second game of the Gators’ series against Alabama, which will begin at 1 p.m. (all times Eastern). The following weekend, the final two games of Florida’s three-game set at Tennessee will be shown on CSS, both with a first-pitch time of 1 p.m.

The Gators’ only scheduled televised home game comes April 5, when ESPNU will carry Florida’s game against Auburn at 5 p.m. During the Texas A&M series (April 18-20), ESPNU will show the Friday game at 8 p.m. and the Saturday contest at 6 p.m. Finally, the Orange and Blue will wrap up the regular season with two ESPN-televised games at Arkansas on May 3 (7:30 p.m.) and May 4 (1 p.m.).

In addition to these conference games, ESPN also will televise the Gators’ Feb. 28 game against Oregon at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic in Orlando. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Games to be shown locally on Sun Sports and Fox Sports Florida will be determined at a later date
