IUPUI Softball Players Mosier, Boetjer Receive Weekly Summit League Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. – IUPUI’s Ali Mosier and Brooke Boetjer were named The Summit League’s Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week for their performances Feb. 16-22.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK          
Ali Mosier, IUPUI

Ali Mosier claims her second career Summit League Player of the Week award and the first of the 2015 season after her performance over the weekend. The IUPUI junior helped her team to a pair of victories in a double-header Saturday over Eastern Illinois and Butler. Mosier went two-for-three with a solo home run, stolen base and two runs scored in a 3-1 win over EIU. In the nightcap against the Bulldogs, she was a perfect three-for-three with an RBI, stolen base and three runs scored in the 8-3 win. For the week, Mosier went five-for-six, two RBIs, two stolen bases and five runs scored.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Brooke Boetjer, IUPUI

Brooke Boetjer receives her first career Summit League Pitcher of the Week award after contributing to an IUPUI double-header sweep of Eastern Illinois and Butler on Saturday, Feb. 21. The junior went the full seven innings against EIU while striking out seven batters and only allowing one run in their 3-1 win over the Panthers. In the nightcap, she came out of the bullpen to throw 3.2 innings and only gave up one hit and no runs to preserve an 8-3 victory over Butler. In total, she tallied 10 strikeouts while only giving up four hits and one earned run Saturday.
