PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Sara Borders, 1B, Sr., 5-8, Alexandria, Ala. – Jacksonville State
Borders hit . 688 with a 1.750 slugging percentage and a .722 on-base percentage. She homered once in four of the five games. Borders hit a three-run home run against Georgia Tech. In the four OVC during the weekend, she went a combined 10-for-10 (.769) with four homers and 10 RBI. She had her third career two-homer game in the win over Murray State. She went 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in the opener versus the Racers before going 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in the finale. Against Austin Peay, Borders went 6-for-7 with homers in each game. She started the doubleheader by going 3-for-3 with a solo homer. She followed that up going 3-for-3 with two doubles, a homer and a career-high tying five RBI in the final game of the twinbill. Borders moved into sole possession of second place on JSU’s career home runs list with 45.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Haley Chambers, P, Jr., 5-7, Coatesville, Ind. – SIUE
As a starter, Chambers has not allowed a run (earned or unearned) in 17 straight innings. She tossed her sixth and seventh shutout of the season versus Saint Louis and Belmont, respectively. She allowed one hit in three innings against Tennessee State. She became the 10th different pitcher in school history to record 20 wins in a season. Batters were hitting just .106 against her last week.
