SAN BRUNO, Calif.-Loyola Marymount University freshman third baseman Alicia Brown and University of Pacific senior pitcher Dani Bonnet have been named the West Coast Conference Players of the Week in the sport of softball, the conference office announced Monday.

Brown thrived at the plate this week, hitting .556 (10-for-18) with a 1.222 slugging percentage and .579 on base percentage, to help LMU to a 4-2 record. Her 10 hits included three doubles and three home runs, while she also scored five times, drove in eight runs and walked four times. Brown opened the week going 3-for-3 with two doubles and one home run in a 10-0 shutout of Howard on Wednesday. In the nightcap of that doubleheader, she went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, one double, one home run and one run scored as the Lions won 10-7. Against UNC Greensboro on Saturday, Brown went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the first game of a doubleheader. She continued her hit streak in the nightcap, going 1-for-3. The Lions would split the doubleheader, 10-2 and 3-12. On Sunday, she went 1-for-2 with a walk and run scored in a 10-2 win over Howard and 1-for-2 with a sacrifice hit in a 0-6 setback to UC Riverside. The Glendora, Calif., native earns her first career weekly award, and the first for LMU since Sterling Shuster won the award March 24, 2014.

Against 2014 Mountain West champion San Diego State, Bonnet tossed a complete game, allowing just two earned runs over her seven innings of work and walking just one batter. She returned against No. 9 Baylor, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win against the Bears. In the nightcap, Bonnet again took the circle for 1.1 innings of scoreless relief, keeping Oregon at bay as Pacific rallied back before falling 9-7 to the Ducks. The Peoria, Arizona, native collects her first career weekly honor, and the first for a Tiger player to be recognized as Picher of the Week.
