Patterson, Minogue, Menke Earn Summit Legaue Softball Weekly Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. –IUPUI’s Roni Patterson and South Dakota’s Yvon Minogue have been named Summit League Players of the Week and Krista Menke of North Dakota State earns Summit League Pitcher of the Week after their performances March 23-29.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK          
Roni Patterson, IUPUI

Roni Patterson earns her first career Summit League Player of the Week award. The sophomore infielder led the Jaguars with a .500 average (8-for-16) and a .619 on-base percentage in six games during the week. Patterson hit her ninth home run of the year, which is tops in The Summit League, and drove in two. She also scored seven times and stole three bases.

Yvon Minogue, South Dakota

Yvon Minogue gathers her first career Summit League Player of the Week award after leading South Dakota to a series win over IUPUI over the weekend. The junior hit .417 (5-for-12) and slugged .667 in the three-game series. In the Saturday nightcap, Minogue was 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. She is batting .429 so far this season, which is fourth-best in The Summit League.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Krista Menke, North Dakota State

Menke is named Summit League Pitcher of the Week for the 15th time in her career and fifth time this season after her performance over the weekend. The senior helped the Bison to a 2-1 series win over Omaha, earning both victories in three-game series. Menke went the distance in both starts, allowing just seven total hits and a pair of earned runs. She struck out 22 Maverick batters to increase her league-leading strikeout total to 232 on the season. Her 18 wins also lead The Summit League.
