TAMPA, FEB. 10, 2014 – Two Bulls were named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll on Monday morning for their performances during opening week.

Senior shortstop Kourtney Salvarola led the Bulls with four runs batted in over the weekend and also tied for the team lead with four hits.

Salvarola recorded a triple in USF’s first game of the year against No. 3 Florida and hit a grand slam to end the game early against Bethune-Cookman.

Also making the honor roll was sophomore pitcher/outfielder Erica Nunn, who received the honor for the first time in her career after pitching a complete game shutout against Bethune-Cookman on opening night.

She pitched 5.0 innings, allowing only three hits while striking out six batters to lead USF to its first win of the season. Nunn also hit her first career home run and posted her first RBI in the 9-0 win over the Wildcats.

The Bulls continue their season this weekend when they host Wright State, Binghamton, Pittsburgh, No. 1 Tennessee and Illinois in the USF Tournament at the USF Softball Stadium.
