Player of the Week Sahvanna Jaquish • LSU Sophomore • IF/C • Highland, Calif.Jaquish led LSU at the plate, hitting .583 with seven hits, seven RBIs, a 1.167 slugging percentage and a .688 on-base percentage. She had two multi-hit outings, starting against Mississippi State as she set the school record for multi-hit contests going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a double for her 18th. Jaquish then earned her second two-home run game of the season in the opener against Tennessee, going 2-for-3 four RBIs and two runs scored to move it to 19. Jaquish accounted for four of the team’s five runs against Tennessee, as she did not strike out in 12 total at-bats.
Co-Pitchers of the Week Lauren Haeger • Florida Senior • RHP • Peoria, Ariz.Haeger improved to 18-0 in the circle this season as she earned her third and fourth wins over ranked opponents this past week. She struck out seven batters in Florida’s win at No. 8 Florida State, and then fanned another four in Saturday’s shutout vs. No. 13 Kentucky. Haeger has won the first game of each of the Gators’ five SEC series this season.
Chelsea Wilkinson • Georgia Junior • RHP • Taylorsville, N.C.Wilkinson got the start and the decision in each of Georgia’s four games this week. She threw 23.2 of the 30 innings Georgia played, and did not give up a single run on the week. Wilkinson struck out 28 batters and did give up an extra base hit as she threw two complete-game shutouts and combined for one more shutout on the week.
Freshman of the Week Nicole DeWitt • Florida UT • Garden Grove, Calif.DeWitt recorded a .750 batting average with six hits, two RBI and two runs scored during three wins for the Gators. She also registered an. 800 on-base percentage and a 1.125 slugging percentage. DeWitt knocked two doubles in Florida’s win at No. 8 Florida State and one against Kentucky Sunday. She has now hit five doubles in nine games, and has tallied three three-hit games on the season to lead the Gators.
