Player of the WeekBianka Bell • LSUJunior • IF • Tampa, Fla.Bell had nine RBIs over three games, hitting .700 with a 1.700 slugging percentage as LSU swept three games last week, including two wins over No. 6. Oklahoma. The junior, currently on a career-long 12 game hitting streak, had seven hits, including three home runs as she slugged .727 to lead all players on the week in all categories. She produced two multi-hit games, including having her second four-hit game in her last three against Nicholls, while she had two multiple-RBI contests, driving in four twice. She went 4-for-4 against the Colonels with a double, while she hit the go ahead home run in game one against the Sooners in a 1-0 win, and a three-run shot in the opening frame, and then a solo later that game to put LSU up in a lead they never relinquished in her first multi-home run game of the season.
Pitcher of the WeekChelsea Wilkinson • GeorgiaJunior • RHP • Taylorsville, N.C.Wilkinson was a perfect 3-0 in the circle for the Bulldogs, and is now tied for first in the SEC with 16 wins. For the week, she struck out 18 batters in 14 innings of work, allowing just one run and four hits over three games for a 0.50 ERA. Wilkinson began the week combining to throw Georgia’s fifth no-hitter of the season with the win at Georgia Tech. She then threw a complete-game one hitter in the series opener against Arkansas, and retired eight consecutive batters in Georgia’s 9-1 win over Arkansas in the series finale.
Freshman of the WeekCarley Hoover • LSURHP • Clemson, S.C.Hoover earned her fifth complete-game win and second shutout of the season as she earned the series-opening win over the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners by holding the visitors to only two hits and limiting OU to just three runners on base for the entire game. Coming in with the best batting average in the nation over .400, Oklahoma hit .091 against Hoover in the contest, as the South Carolina native retired the side in order in four of the seven innings, as just one Sooner runner made it to second base on the evening. The hits allowed tied her season low for the third time this season in a start.
