After not registering a hit in her first game of the Purple and Gold Challenge, she was perfect in every game the rest of the weekend earning multiple hits in the rest, and multiple RBI’s in three, including drilling two triples and a double to slug 1.545 with an .895 on-base percentage. Andrews did not strike out once, as she was walked seven times, with two games of stolen bases and at least one in the last three. She tied her career high in hits twice with three against FAU and SFA, while in the final three games, she matched and then exceeded her career high in RBIs with three, four and six against the Ladyjacks, becoming just the second person this season to drive in that many in a contest.
Pitcher of the WeekDelanie Gourley • FloridaSophomore • LHP • Lakeside, Calif.Gourley led Florida to its seventh consecutive win against No. 2 Oregon, dating back to 2007. She earned her sixth career win against a ranked opponent and her third against a top-five team, allowing just two hits to a Ducks offense that came to San Diego with six hitters batting .400 or higher. Gourley recorded 13 strikeouts over 11.0 scoreless innings this week, pitching just 20 miles from her hometown of Lakeside, Calif.
Freshman of the WeekAleshia Ocasio • FloridaUT • St. Cloud, Fla.Ocasio registered two wins and one save in the circle for the Gators, including her second win over a ranked opponent with her complete-game victory over No. 15 UCF. For the week, she pitched 15 innings, giving up one earned run and striking out 21 batters. Ocasio has struck out eight or more batters in four of her five starts this year.
