TERRE HAUTE, Ind.—Seniors Shelby Wilson and Morgan Allee have both been named to the Preseason Softball All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
“Its exciting for both of them being seniors, impact players within our program,” head coach Shane Bouman said.

Wilson led the Sycamores last season with a .361 batting average and 34 RBI’s. Wilson was also fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference in batting average. Last season, Wilson was named First Team All-MVC and Second Team All-Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Allee led the Sycamores on the basepaths last season with 36 stolen bases, breaking the Indiana State school record and just one shy of the Missouri Valley Conference record. Allee also held a .335 batting average and tied Wilson for the team lead in hits with 53. In addition, Allee was named Second Team All-MVC last season as well as Newcomer of the Year in the Missouri Valley Conference.

This marks the first time in school history that the Sycamores have had two players named to the preseason all conference team in the same season. As a team, the Sycamores were picked 10th with 21 points. Northern Iowa was tabbed as the unanimous league favorite with 100 points.

The Sycamores will open their season on Feb. 8 in Ames, Iowa as part of the Cyclone Invitational inside the Bergstrom Indoor Practice Facility.
