SJU-TV To Produce Eight Red Storm Softball Games For ESPN3

QUEENS, N.Y. (Feb. 12, 2014) – As part of a production agreement with ESPN, the St. John’s University Television Network (SJU-TV) will produce eight Red Storm softball games this spring that will be carried live in H.D. to more than 86 million homes on ESPN3.

“We are so fortunate to have the qualified staff and expertise to produce our softball games on ESPN3,” said head coach Amy Kvilhaug. “It’s great that our family, friends and alumni from around the country are able to watch our games and allows everyone to remain connected to the program in a way that many teams are not able to do.”

A total of 27 live St. John’s events will be produce by SJU-TV for ESPN3 in the spring season, including 14 baseball games, eight softball games and five men’s lacrosse games. Combined with 20 fall events and 15 winter events, SJU-TV will produce a total of 62 live events for ESPN3 by the end of the spring season.

SJU-TV live-game productions feature four- or five-camera H.D. broadcasts with full graphics integration, instant replay, and both a play-by-play announcer and color analyst to give fans a high-quality viewing experience. Each SJU-TV broadcast is crewed by a 15-person team consisting of local television professionals and St. John’s undergraduate and graduate students that are enrolled in a video production course in the University.
