Summit League Softball Names Athletes of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – IUPUI’s Ali Mosier is named Summit League Player of the Week while Krista Menke of North Dakota State and IUPUI’s Brooke Boetjer earn Summit League Pitcher of the Week awards for their performances March 2-8.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK          
Ali Mosier, IUPUI
Jr. // IF // Simi Valley, Calif.
Mosier earns her second Summit League Player of the Week award of the 2015 season and the third on her career after her performance this week. The junior Led IUPUI in hitting for the week as it went 4-1 at the Mustang Classic. Mosier hit .500, with eight hits in 16 at bats, five of which went for extra bases. She added one home run and three RBI, those three RBI made her the Jaguars all-time D-I era leader in career RBI. She had a slugging percentage of .938 and an on-base % of .556. Her home run was the go-ahead home run in the sixth inning in a win over Bryant.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Krista Menke is named Summit League Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week and third time in 2015 and for the 13th time in her career. Menke threw her second career no-hitter and third of her career with an eight-inning 3-0 victory over Purdue on Saturday at the University of Tennessee Invitational. She struck out 12 while walking only one batter. Menke reached double-figure strikeouts for the eighth time this season and the 15th time in her career. She added another win against Northern Iowa on Friday, going six innings and striking out nine.

Brooke Boetjer, IUPUI

Brooke Boetjer receives her second career Summit League Pitcher of the Week award and second this season after leading IUPUI at the Mustang Classic over the weekend. The junior went 3-1 in the circle to improve her record to 10-4 on the season, tying her for the league lead in wins. She threw two complete games, including one complete-game shutout in a 6-0 win over Southern Utah. She had an ERA of 1.13 in 18.2 innings of work and totaled 13 strikeouts for the week.
