Tennessee’s 12 runs in each game is a school record for runs in NCAA Tournament play and its 12-run margin of victory against the Hokies also set a school record for NCAA games. Freshman Annie Aldrete has hit three home runs so far in the regional to push her season total to 19, tying Lauren Gibson’s UT single-season record set in 2013.

Lipscomb fell to Virginia Tech, 4-3, in Game 1 on Friday. The Bisons bounced back on Saturday with 4-2 win over Charleston Southern in Game 4 and a 12-3 win over Virginia Tech in Game 5. Lipscomb has advanced to the third day of NCAA regionals for the second time in its program history. In the Bisons’ only other NCAA Tournament appearance, they went 2-2 in the 2010 Tuscaloosa Regional, falling to Alabama, 6-0, in Game 6.
