PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s first weekly softball honors of the 2016 season, for the week ending Feb. 14.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Courtney Rotton • 3B • So. • UCF • Clermont, Fla.
Rotton has earned Player of the Week honors after she hit .571 with a .714 slugging percentage as UCF finished the weekend 4-1 at the UCF Knights Invitational. The sophomore recorded eight hits in 14 at bats, and tied the UCF single-game hits record as she went 4-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs in an 8-1 win over No. 5/5 Alabama. The victory over the Crimson Tide was the Knights’ first over a top-five opponent at the UCF Softball Complex since 2012. Rotton leads the team with eight RBIs, and she also drew three walks on the weekend.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Shelby Turnier • Sr. • UCF • Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Turnier has been named Pitcher of the Week after she went 2-1 as she totaled 17 strikeouts and a 1.47 ERA in 19 innings pitched for the Knights. The senior tossed a three-hit, complete game and struck out nine batters en route to an 8-1 win over No. 5/5 Alabama. Turnier kept the Tide off the board until the sixth inning, helping UCF post its largest margin of victory against a top-five opponent in school history.
