UJVARI, AUDAS EARN WEEKLY AAC SOFTBALL HONORS

PROVIDENCE, R.I. The American Athletic Conference has announced winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for games ending April 19.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jessica Ujvari * DP *Jr. * UCF

Ujvari finished the weekend with a hit in every game and a pair of three-RBI games against Memphis as the Knights clinched a share of the American regular season title with a sweep of the Tigers. With the wins, UCF secured their first back-to-back conference titles in program history. Ujvari homered in Friday’s second game and followed with her seventh home run of the season in the finale on Saturday. She had a 1.250 slugging percentage over the weekend and finished with a .636 on-base percentage.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Mackenzie Audas * Sr. * UCF

Audas tallied two complete-game wins over the weekend without allowing an earned run during action at Memphis. The senior tossed her 27th shutout of the season on Friday, a one-hitter, and had a perfect game going into the bottom of the fifth before the Tigers broke up the bid with a one-out single. Audas struck out 16 batters over the weekend, eight strikeouts each game, and lowered her overall ERA to 1.00 with her 0.00 outing this weekend.

Was 6-for-13 over the week with five runs, three RBIs and two homers during action vs. No. 23/24 James Madison and USF

Courtney Klingler * C * Jr. * Houston
Batted .500 (5-for-10) in a sweep of UConn, went 4-for-4 in the series finale on Sunday with a walk-off double

Lauren Duggan * P * Sr. * UConn
Tossed a no-hitter in Tuesday’s win at Hartford, it was the 37th no-hitter in UConn history and just the third since 2000

Julana Shrum * P * Jr. * Houston
Had two wins in the circle vs. UConn, gave up just four hits and two walks in 10.2 innings of action

Lee Ann Spivey * C/OF * Jr. * USF
Recorded four of the five RBIs for USF last week, tallied her 10th HR of the season in Saturday’s win over East Carolina
