PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Lauren Smith, 1B/DP, Sr., 5-9, O’Fallon, Ill. – UT Martin
Smith hit .667 with a 1.778 slugging percentage and a .800 on-base percentage. Four of her six hits on the week were for extra bases, including three home runs. She also tallied six walks on the week and struck out just once. She scored three times and drove in eight runs. Smith moved into second on UT Martin’s all-time home runs list with her 30th career homer.

CheyAnne Gaskey, P, Sr., 5-8, Morgantown, Ky. – Murray State
Gaskey went 3-0 in with two shutouts and an ERA of 0.82. She struck out at least five in each game last week and fanned a season-best nine against Eastern Kentucky. She finished the week with 20 strikeouts.
