Akron Racers beats PA Rebellion 5-2

Akron Racers beat PA Rebellion 5-2 in seven innings on Tuesday at Akron, OH behind Jessica Garcia, who went 2-3.

She singled in the second inning and doubled in the third inning.

Akron Racers got the win thanks in large part to Rachele Fico‘s dominant, six-strikeout performance. Rachele allowed two earned runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings.

Angeline Quiocho was hot from the plate for PA Rebellion. Angeline went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. She singled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Bryana Walker looked sharp on the rubber. Bryana held Akron Racers hitless over 3 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Tatum Edwards couldn’t get it done in the circle for PA Rebellion, taking a loss. She lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

Akron Racers didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the second inning when it scored on a two-run single by Nerissa Myers.

It didn’t take long for Akron Racers to respond as it scored three runs of its own in the third. Akron Racers scored on a wild pitch and a two-run single by Ayumi Karino.

One run in the top of the seventh helped PA Rebellion close its deficit to 5-2. A solo home run by Angeline gave PA Rebellion life. Akron Racers’ Rachele induced a Brittney Lindley to close things out.
