Akron Racers get on top of PA Rebellion early but can’t hang on in 3-2 loss

Akron Racers came out firing, but couldn’t hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 3-2 ballgame against PA Rebellion on Sunday at Akron, OH.

While Akron Racers led until the sixth inning, PA Rebellion worked its way back and took the lead on a two-run home run by Sarah Prezioso.

Sarah Prezioso racked up two RBIs on one hit for PA Rebellion. She homered in the sixth inning.

Angel Bunner racked up five strikeouts in the PA Rebellion win. Angel allowed no earned runs, six hits and two walks over six innings.

Lannah Campbell couldn’t get it done in the circle for Akron Racers, taking a loss. She lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

PA Rebellion closer Tatum Edwards put away the final three outs to record the save.

The bottom of the third saw Akron Racers take an early lead, 2-0. A double by Jill Barrett, bringing home Ashley Thomas started the inning off. Akron Racers then tacked on more runs when Barrett scored on an RBI single by Charlotte Morgan.

PA Rebellion didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the sixth inning when it scored on a two-run home run by Sarah Prezioso.
