Chicago Bandits cruises past Akron Racers, 14-2

Akron Racers didn’t have a chance on Sunday, as Chicago Bandits won in blowout fashion, 14-2 in seven innings at Rosemont, IL.

Chicago Bandits scored four runs in the sixth on Chicago Bandits scored in the sixth on a two-run home run by Jenna Grim, an RBI double by Kirsten Verdun, and an RBI double by Alisa Goler.

Kristen Butler racked up four RBIs on three hits for Chicago Bandits. She homered in the fourth inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.

Akron Racers couldn’t get anything going so long as Andrea Williamson was on the hill. Akron Racers managed just two hits off of Williamson, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out four during her six innings of work.

Akron Racers was led by Jessica Garcia‘s hitting. Garcia went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. She homered in the fifth inning.

Rachele Fico was charged with the loss. She allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.

Chicago Bandits never trailed after scoring three runs in the third on a two-run error and a groundout by Megan Wiggins.

Chicago Bandits pushed across three runs in both the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, Chicago Bandits scored on a groundout by Tammy Williams, plating Emily Allard.
