Chicago Bandits get on top of USSSA Pride early but can’t hang on in 6-1 loss

Chicago Bandits jumped out to an early lead, but was unable to hold on and lost 6-1 to USSSA Pride on Sunday.

While Chicago Bandits led until the fifth inning, USSSA Pride worked its way back and took the lead on a solo home run by Madison Shipman.

GiOnna DiSalvatore racked up three RBIs on two hits for USSSA Pride. She tripled in the sixth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Cat Osterman‘s nine strikeouts helped USSSA Pride to the victory. Cat allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks over seven innings.

Megan Wiggins had two extra-base hits for Chicago Bandits. She doubled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.

Michelle Gascoigne took the loss for Chicago Bandits. She lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.

Chicago Bandits scored its only run of the game on a solo home run by Megan in the third inning.

USSSA Pride never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring one run on a solo home run by Madison.

USSSA Pride scored two runs in the sixth inning, and then followed it up with two more in the seventh. In the sixth, USSSA Pride scored on an RBI triple by GiOnna, bringing home Cassie Tysarczyk.
