WASHINGTON, PA, June 10, 2015 – Headlined by two strong pitching performances the PA Rebellion suffered a 5-0 loss to the Chicago Bandits on Wednesday, June 10.  Chicago’s starting pitcher Michelle Gascoigne picked up the win while PA pitcher Dallas Escobedo was given the loss.
The game was nothing short of a pitcher’s duel between Escobedo and Gascoigne.  Both pitchers were extremely effective, but Gascoigne was the eventual victor. The two pitchers went back and forth until Chicago short stop Tammy Williams hit an RBI single in the top of the fourth inning scoring center fielder Emily Allard.  The Bandits would add two more runs on a double by first baseman Megan Blank to make it 3-0 Chicago.
Chicago brought in two more runs in the top of the seventh inning on a single from Allard that scored designated player Sammy Marshall, and left fielder Brenna Moss scoring on the throw from left field in the same play.
Gascoigne took a no-hitter into the fifth inning. It was then broken up by Lara Andrews’ single to right field. PA first baseman Alisa Goler also notched a hit in the bottom of the sixth.
Escobedo pitched deep into the game, however the Rebellion’s offense was not able to score any runs to help out her strong performance. The final score was 5-0 Chicago. Escobedo finished her 6.2-inning performance with four strikeouts and allowing only two walks.
