Dallas Charge Earn 5-0 over Scrap Yard Dogs

Dallas-Charge

Westminister, CO – June 29, 2016 – The Scrap Yard Dawgs faced the Dallas Charge for game two of the series.

The Charge were first to put runs on the board, with a single from Renada Davis to lead off the first inning. With Davis on base, and a walk to Taylor Gadbois, Kylee Lahners hit a shot to left field to bring in the first two runs of the game. Lauren Haeger continued the rally with a double to left to bring in Lahners and Kaylyn Castillo hit an RBI single to score Haeger (0-4).

Ellen Renfroe Reed earned the start for the Dawgs in the circle but Sara Driesenga entered in relief in the second inning.

The Dawgs held the Charge at four runs and great defensive plays by Christian Stokes at short stop kept the Charge from scoring after the first inning.

Due to the weather, the game was delayed in the sixth inning but continued after an hour. The Charge put one more run on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning (0-5). The Dawgs struggled to ignite a spark offensively against Haeger, and fell to the Dallas Charge with a final score of (0-5).

The Dawgs will take on the Charge tomorrow night for the last game of the series in Aurora, Colorado.
