MCKINNEY, TX – June 5, 2015 – The Dallas Charge evened up the series as they defeat the Pennsylvania Rebellion with a score of 9-5 on Thursday, June 4. With the win, the Dallas Charge record their first win in franchise history.
Rebellion players Courtney Senas and Alexa Peterson recorded the team’s first and second home runs of the season to lead the offensive effort. Rebellion relief pitcher Bryana Walker suffered the loss, while Dallas’ Vanessa Stokes was credited the win on the night.
In the top second inning the Rebellion were first on the scoreboard when Peterson recorded her first home run of the season with a blast over the left field fence. Peterson’s home run was also the first for the Rebellion on the season.
In the top of the fourth the Rebellion showed a comeback spark with a two-run home run by Senas, who was 3-3 on the night. The Rebellion then made quick work of Dallas pitcher Vanessa Stokes in the top of the sixth as Senas and Garcia led off with singles followed by a Watkins infield single to load the bases. Senas scored on a groundout to the right side of the field followed by Garcia as a result of a Dallas throwing error to give them the 6-5 advantage.
Despite a powerful comeback, the Rebellion fell short in the bottom of the sixth as the Charge scored 4 runs on 3 hits including a stand up triple by Renada Davis. The Rebellion came up to bat one last time in the top of the seventh but could not record a run.
