Great pitching leads Chicago Bandits past USSSA Pride 3-0

An impressive effort by Monica Abbott lifted Chicago Bandits to a 3-0 win in seven innings over USSSA Pride on Saturday at Round Rock, TX.

Monica racked up 12 strikeouts in the Chicago Bandits win. Chicago Bandits’ pitcher gave up just three hits over seven shutout innings.

Kaylyn Castillo was hot from the plate for Chicago Bandits. Kaylyn went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. She homered in the fourth inning.

Jordan Taylor was the game’s losing pitcher. She lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

Chicago Bandits didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the second inning when it scored on a sacrifice fly by Cheyenne Coyle.

Chicago Bandits brought home one run in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the fourth, Chicago Bandits scored on a solo home run by Kaylyn.
