Washington, PA. – July 13, 2015 – The Pennsylvania Rebellion were matched up against the Dallas Charge on Monday, July 13, for a 7:05 game at CONSOL Energy Park. Both teams received outstanding efforts from their pitchers, but in the end it was the Rebellion who were able to take the victory by a score of 3-2 in 10 innings. PA reliever Emma Johnson earned the extra-innings win while Charge starter Lauren Haeger was given the loss.

Fans were kept on the edge of their seats throughout the Monday evening match-up. The Charge took lead in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run home run from third baseman Nadia Taylor. Rebellion starting pitcher Miranda Kramer was substituted a few batters later after a strong performance that lasted 4.1 innings. Pitcher Emma Johnson then took over and continued the great pitching for the rest of the game. Kramer finished her performance allowing six hits and striking out two.

In the fifth inning, PA answered with two runs of their own to knot the game. Center fielder Courtney Senas took advantage of miscommunication from the Dallas defense and stretched out an RBI double that gave the Rebellion their first run of the game. Later in the at bat, shortstop Whitney Arion tied the game on an RBI single that scored Senas.

Nearly flawless pitching efforts from both sides kept the game tied into the late innings, ultimately sending the game into extras. Both teams had close calls to take the lead in the final at-bats, but it was the Rebellion who capitalized first. It came down to a suicide squeeze bunt that was perfectly placed by Arion to score Senas for a 3-2 victory to snap a 13-game skid for the Rebellion

The Rebellion and Charge will be back in action on Tuesday, July 14 for the second installment of their four-game series. First pitch from CONSOL Energy Park is set for 7:05 p.m. ET. For tickets, please visit the Rebellion front office, call 724-250-9555 or visit www.pennsylvaniarebellion.com.
