Miranda Elish and Lauren Burke Transfer to Texas

New Texas Head Coach, Mike White will have two more familiar faces in the Longhorn dugout this upcoming season.

It was announced Monday that junior pitcher, Miranda Elish, and utility player, Lauren Burke, will be transferring from Oregon to Texas.  Elish and Burke will join the Longhorns’ program after the semester break. White left Oregon this past summer after nine seasons to take over the Longhorns’ program this past summer.

At Texas, Elish and Burke will reunite with White and former Oregon assistants, Chelsea Spencer and Kailee Cuico. Texas expects that both players will be eligible for this upcoming season.

Elish compiled a record of 37-2 over two seasons at Oregon. She garnered a 1.42 ERA and was responsible for Oregon’s first-ever seven-inning perfect game. Elish also threw a three-hitter against Texas during last season’s non-conference meeting in Mexico.

Elish will join a Longhorns pitching staff that boasts all-conference left-hander Brooke Bolinger as its only experienced arm.

Burke hit .351 with three home runs during the 2018 season. She served mainly as Oregon’s designated player and pinch hitter during last year’s postseason run.
