BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference released its 2014 softball television schedule on Tuesday. No. 1 Tennessee will have six regular-season games televised.
ESPNU will broadcast three UT games. Tennessee and South Carolina kick off ESPN’s 2014 coverage of SEC softball when the Lady Vols host the Gamecocks on March 23 at 2:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU. Fans can watch UT play No. 11 Texas A&M on ESPNU on April 11 at 8 p.m. ET and on April 13 at 1 p.m. ET.
CSS will carry two of Tennessee’s games against No. 4/3 Florida. The March 29 and March 30 games will be broadcast on CSS with times moved to 1 p.m. ET for both.
FOX Sports Net (SportSouth) will broadcast Tennessee’s May 4 regular-season finale against Ole Miss with first pitch pushed up to 1 p.m. ET.
Combined, the networks will broadcast 27 regular-season SEC softball games, in addition to all nine games of the SEC Tournament from May 7-10.
The ESPN family of networks will air a total of 25 SEC softball games nationally, including the 2014 SEC Tournament. Fox Sports Net (SportSouth, FS Midwest, FS Southwest and Sun Sports) will televise seven games, while CSS (Comcast / Charter Sport Southeast) will air four contests.
Fans will be able to access the ESPN telecasts on WatchESPN.com and the WatchESPN mobile app, while the FSN and CSS contests will be available through ESPN3 and the WatchESPN mobile app.
SEC teams begin softball action on Feb. 6 and UT opens its season on Feb. 7 against Northern Colorado in Statesboro, Ga. The 2014 SEC Softball Tournament will take place May 7-10 in Columbia, S.C., at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field.
